This rug is woven in an Overshot pattern that gives it movement and texture. It looks, to me, like the ocean on one of those days when the fog is rolling in and the wind picks up and the sea starts to heave a little more than normal. A feeling of something about to happen is in the air, and the sea birds start flocking for safety. Exciting! It is green/blue/tan and 24" x 36".

How it’s Made
About your cotton rag rug:
All the fiber used in my cotton rugs is sourced from resale shops, so I know it is cotton and structurally sound. I hand cut it into rag strips and sort it by color. Sometimes I overdye the fabric before cutting to get the colors I need. Sometimes I overdye the rug after weaving, to unite the colors. I let you know about dying on the tag, so you don’t accidentally dye all the underware pink! I typically use cotton warp because it is sturdy and long wearing. Cotton rag rugs will naturally fray a bit. You can trim the frays or enjoy the texture! Hand wash with a mild soap, roll in a towel, and dry flat to keep it in good shape.
